Founder and Co-Chairman, Dianrong

Kevin Guo is co-founder and Co-Chairman of Dianrong, a leader in online marketplace lending in China. He served as Co-Chief Executive Officer from 2012 to 2017.

Prior to Dianrong, Kevin was a managing partner of well-known Shanghai law firm Yulan & Partners, from 2001-2011. For more than 10 years, he provided legal counsel to leading multinationals, including Siemens, Google, and Microsoft, on intellectual property matters. Before that, Kevin advised a number of venture capital funds on Internet finance and investment activities.

Kevin serves on numerous boards, including the Shanghai Youth Federation, the Huangpu District Youth Federation, and the Shanghai Finance Institute. He also serves as a legal expert for the Internet Branch of the Insurance Association of China, and an entrepreneurial mentor for Top 50 Achievers of China Credit Information Industry and Global Entrepreneur Leadership Program of PBC School of Finance, Tsinghua University.

Kevin has received numerous professional awards and recognitions. He was named to the Top 10 Innovators of the Thirteenth Shanghai IT Youths in 2014 and was awarded the Outstanding Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2015 by the Thirteenth China Finance and Economics Rankings. Additionally, Kevin was named Shanghai Financial Industry Leader jointly awarded by Xinhua News Agency, People’s Bank of China (Shanghai Branch), China Securities Regulatory Commission, Shanghai Securities Bureau, China Banking Regulatory Commission, (Shanghai Office), and the China Insurance Regulatory Commission (Shanghai Office and Financial Service Office). In 2016, he was named to the Top 20 Financial Technology Leaders of the Global Figures Chart by People’s Daily.

As a technology industry expert involved in the discussion and formulation of Internet finance policies in China, Kevin co-authored the book Theory, Practice and Supervision of Internet Finance (2014) with the Chinese regulatory authorities. He also regularly posts online opinion columns on various sites, including caixin.com, finance.sina.com.cn, 01caijing.com, and weiyangx.com.

Kevin holds a Bachelor of Science in International Economics and a Juris Doctorate from Eastern China University of Politics and Law. He also earned a Master of Finance from Remin University of China.
