For further development of space, it is important for existing companies to expand their space business, and at the same time, for new players to participate. Government officials, experts, and front-line businesspersons will gather from various countries to present concrete examples of development prospects on the Moon and in LEO and service improvements on Earth, and to discuss measures to promote the expected participation of non-space industries in the future. The meeting will also focus on international space rule-making necessary for stable space utilization and measures to deal with various possible space risks.
This session will deepen our understanding of the future of lunar development around the world, and also discuss the prospects for lunar development in Japan, which is being promoted by both the public and private sectors.
The current status and prospects of satellite launches and operations being promoted by Japan and Europe will be presented, as well as the benefits of such operations on Earth. We will also present examples of the latest satellite data applications and services using satellites by private companies, and discuss the prospects for the satellite business.
In order for the space industry to grow, it is important to expand the base of players. The panelists will discuss the future of the commercial space station, measures taken by the U.S. and Japanese governments to promote participation in the space industry, and the merits and difficulties of new entrants from the perspective of private consulting firms.
As space development by the private sector advances, international rule-making has become an important issue. Discussion will focus on the recognition and management of various issues such as space debris, space cybersecurity, and development risks.
