Atsushi Mizushima is a partner at Nishimura & Asahi (Gaikokuho Kyodo Jigyo), Japan’s largest law firm. In Nishimura & Asahi, Atsushi founded the Execution Design Practice Group, and supports the management of blue-chip companies and the founders of rising startups in their strategic actions, including M&A, new business creation, business alliances, fundraising, and IP strategies.

Outside of his legal practice, he was one of the founding members of WHILL, Inc., a Silicon Valley-based startup, where he conducted two rounds (seed and series A rounds) of VC fundraising. He also is a co-founder of SPACEIDE Foundation, a non-profit organization that conducts cross-industry activities related to new space business.

In addition, he serves as a Committee Member of the Governmental Task Force for Issue Identification for the Environment Surrounding Space Businesses of the Japanese government, and is the Chair of the Space Law Committee of the First Tokyo Bar Association.
