After completing Graduate School of Science and Technology at Keio University, he joined National Space Development Agency of Japan (NASDA), where he was involved in the research and development of the H-IIA launch vehicle and its launches. After working as a visiting researcher at European Space Agency (ESA), he became an Associate Senior Engineer at Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA). He has been working in international collaboration with NASA and ESA on software for onboard spacecraft. In 2009, he moved to Keio University, where he is engaged in teaching systems engineering and design thinking and conducting research on solving social issues using these disciplines. He is a member of various government committees on space policy and rocket development. Program Officer (PO) of Japanese Space Strategic Fund. He is also a representative director of the Space Service Innovation Laboratory Co., which consists of 12 companies, including university-launched space ventures. Chairman of the Space Business Co-Creation Committee of Japan Society for Aeronautical and Space Sciences. Visiting Professor at Nagoya University. He has also served a principal of Keio Yokohama Elementary School. Ph.D. in Media and Governance, Keio University.
