CYBER INDEX AWARDS 2021 WINNERS

GRAND PRIX: Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation (NTT)

Collaborating with partners in the mission of promoting digital transformation (DX) using information and communications technology (ICT) to solve social issues, both nationally and internationally, NTT has put in place mechanisms to ensure a secure and safe information and communications infrastructure. The company is also actively disclosing the details to its customers, business partners, investors and other stakeholders, as well as working to raise the standard of cybersecurity initiatives overseas.

As an example of a mechanism for providing safe and secure information and telecommunications infrastructure and services, NTT Group evaluates important issues that should be addressed in a common and steady manner by each Group company based on two axes: “priority for stakeholders” and “priority for NTT Group,” and prioritizes the protection of personal information and security over the stability and reliability of telecommunications services, which are its core business. It has set up an organization to deal with computer security incidents across the Group, receive information on security incidents, assist in responding to them, consider preventive measures, develop training programs, and provide security-related information to improve the security of the Group and the information network society.

In terms of information disclosure, the Group actively publishes the initiatives of its companies on its website, in integrated reports and in its annual cybersecurity report. In addition, the Group not only uses a cybersecurity framework based on the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), which is a reference for companies around the world when taking security measures. It also promotes its use internationally by disseminating information in English and participating in international communities.
