Graduated from Ochanomizu University, she joined Nikkei as a journalist in 1993 to cover various corporations in Tokyo, Osaka and Nagoya and to write stories on consumer trends. From January to July 1998, she was nominated to be a member of a project team to run a series of the front page stories focusing on women. The column, “Quiet Revolution of Women,” was the first of its kind and she found her own position in reporting on women and women related issues. From 2017 to 2019, she was the founding Editor-in-Chief for NIKKEI The STYLE, Nikkei’s lifestyle magazine. From 2019 to 2021, she was the Chief Editor of Working Women's section. Since April 2021, she has been serving as senior staff writer, mainly covering career development, diversity, consumption, and marketing. She is also a consumer life advisor and career consultant.
