Born in Chiba Prefecture in 1974. Graduated from the Department of Architecture, Tokyo Institute of Technology in 1996. Joined Nikkei Business Publications in 1998 after graduating from Tokyo Institute of Technology Graduate School. After working as staff editor for magazines and websites for the architecture/construction industries such as "Nikkei Architecture" and also as editor of "REAL SIMPLE JAPAN", the Japanese version of women's lifestyle magazine published by TIME Inc., joined "Nikkei Woman" editorial team.
Asuka interviews working women on various themes such as career advancement, time management, savings, beauty, and health. In 2018, she was made editor-in-chief of “Nikkei Woman”. Every year, she participates in the research and announcement of the "Woman of the Year" award, which recognizes women who have achieved remarkable success, and also the "100 Best Companies Where Women Actively Take Part" award.
