Takayoshi Fukuyo is the CEO and Founder of ArkEdge Space Inc., a Tokyo-based space startup offering solutions for micro-satellite constellations—from planning and design to semi-mass production and operations. He founded ArkEdge Space Inc. (formerly Space Edge Lab) in 2018 following a diverse career in international cooperation and space policy.

Mr. Fukuyo earned his graduate degree from the University of Tokyo's Graduate School of Agricultural and Life Sciences. He began his career as a JICA expert in natural resource management, contributing to projects in South America. Later, he joined Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs; after that, the Cabinet Office, where he played a central role in promoting international cooperation in the space sector and advancing the use of space-derived data across regions including Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America.

Before launching ArkEdge Space, he served as a Special Associate Professor at the University of Tokyo and was Executive Advisor of the Space Policy Committee under the Cabinet Office.

At ArkEdge Space, Mr. Fukuyo leads initiatives ranging from micro-satellite development for deep space exploration to the construction of satellite infrastructure for lunar missions, as well as maritime communications (VDES), Earth observation, low-Earth orbit positioning (LEO-PNT), and remote-sensing applications for environmental monitoring. He is also involved in creating partnerships with governments, universities, and industry to promote open, inclusive, and sustainable space utilization.

His work reflects a mission to "Empowering people with satellites for a prosperous future," and democratize access to space, especially for underserved regions.
