Steve Clarke serves as director for future architectures with Sierra Space,where he leads an innovative team in establishing the architectures and associated missions that define the future of LEO, cislunar, deep space,and beyond in collaboration with diverse customers’ needs and Sierra Space product evolution. Mr. Clarke was previously with NASA for 23 years and held many senior leadership positions within the human spaceflight, science, and aeronautics mission directorates. He also served as a senior policy analyst at the Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP). Prior to his NASA career, Mr. Clarke held various engineering positions within the commercial space industry.
Mr. Clarke has over 39 years of experience in executive leadership; systems engineering; program and project management of scientific research programs, civil, national security space, and commercial satellite, launch vehicle, aircraft, and airspace programs; international partnerships; operations; acquisition; budget development and execution; policy development and implementation. Mr. Clarke holds a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering technology and a Master of Science degree in industrial engineering from the University of Central Florida in Orlando, FL. He has also completed executive leadership education programs at the Federal Executive Institute in Charlottesville, VA. He was awarded the Presidential Rank Award in 2018 for sustained extraordinary accomplishments as a member of the Senior Executive Service.
