As the head of Mizuho Bank’s initiative to support innovative startups, Masato Kaneda leads a dedicated team who provide critical support to up-and-coming startups, from acceleration programs to early and late-stage funding. He and his team support emerging companies on their path to success, from their initial stages to pre- and post-IPO support, and M&A through Mizuho’s investment banking arm.

During his career at Mizuho, has gained extensive business development experience in both investment and retail banking in Japan, Hong Kong and Singapore. He has also worked in project finance, M&A and Fintech in Mizuho’s Tokyo HQ and the Hong Kong branch.

Masato holds an MBA from MIT’s School of Management.
