Tomo Sekiguchi is the Executive Officer and the head of Department of Professional Practices (DPP)-disclosure at KPMG AZSA LLC, where he leads the firm in promoting the quality ofsustainability reporting and assurance services. He is also the vice-chair of Corporate and Sustainability Reporting Topic Team for KPMG’s global network. Concurrently, he assists companies in the financial services industry including those relate to fintech area.

He has strong expertise in standard-setting and regulatory activities via the following experiences:

• Involved in accounting/auditing/disclosure related policy-making activities of the International Organization of the Securities Commissions (IOSCO), when he worked for the Financial Services Agency of Japan;
• Served as the full-time board member for the Accounting Standards Board of Japan (ASBJ), where he leads its international activities; and
• Serviced as the part-time board member for the International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board (IAASB), where he is involved in standard-setting of international auditing and assurance standards.

He is the CPA admitted in Japan and the US. He received MBA from Hitotsubashi University - ICS.
