Since April 2019, Arisa works independently under her initiative En-CycleS, standing for Engagement Cycle for Sustainability.
As part of this, Arisa is a Board member of Japan Sustainable Investment Forum (JSIF), a Sustainable Investment Specialist for Chronos Sustainability, member of the Japan Financial Service Agency (JFSA) Expert Panel for Sustainable Finance, and the Green Finance Committee under the Ministry of Environment.
Prior to this, as Head of ESG, Asia Pacific, Arisa was responsible for developing and implementing FTSE Russell’s Asia Pacific Sustainable Investment product strategy and expansion.
Arisa relocated to Tokyo in 2015 to take up her position as Head of ESG, starting with delivering research on stewardship implementation for GPIF. Prior to this she was based in London, a key hub for ESG investments. She has been working as an expert in ESG and Sustainable Investment since 2007, including managing corporate engagement programmes, ESG indexes and ratings, and client engagement on stewardship and ESG integration.
Arisa has contributed to the wider debate on ESG and long term investment through various public speaking, writing for media publications such as Responsible Investor and Alterna, and contributing as Board member of JSIF and Working Group for Asia Investor Group on Climate Change (AIGCC).
