U.S. President Donald Trump’s “Liberation Day” tariffs shook global markets from Day 1. Asian markets initially followed suit but soon became a go-to destination for investors bridging risks brought on by the president’s flip-flops and as the U.S. dollar and Treasurys stumbled. With uncertainties darkly clouding the future, the 90-day tariff pause expires on July 9.
In “Trading Asia Live: What to expect from markets when the Trump tariffs kick in,” Nikkei Asia’s leading market reporters Lisa Kim and Jada Nagumo will discuss how experts are calibrating the tariffs’ impact on the real economy, and how investors plan to trade during the renewed tariff war.
