Professor Hirose’s research interests include human–machine interaction, human–computer interface, interactive computer graphics, wearable computers, and virtual reality. Professor Hirose served in various posts; the Chairman of The Virtual Reality Society of Japan (VRSJ), Fellow of Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers, Coordinator of National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology （AIST）, Program Coordinator of National Institute of Information and Communications Technology., etc. Professor Hirose was born in 1954.
