He joined Toyo Trust Bank (now Mitsubishi UFJ Trust Bank) in April 1988. Following positions at think tanks and AI service companies, he began working at Keio University's Center for Gerontology in Finance in September 2023.
During his tenure at the think tank, he conducted investigations into the actual practices of bank counter sales regulations for non-deposit financial instruments. This led him to initiate various efforts aimed at supporting the autonomy of elderly individuals with dementia. For example, (1) Promoting the "Shukatsu" (planning to make a final stage of life more colorful) project with the support of corporate guardianship for elderly from citizen groups, etc., (2) supporting the citizen guardianship organizations and planning to establish a fund to support local guardianships, through collaboration between welfare and finance (3) building a guardianship business platform using ICT ----. These involvements enable corporate guardianship for elderly individuals who cannot have family supports.
Since April 2020, he has been conducting research on posthumous affairs delegation and voluntary guardianship at Musashino University Graduate School of Law, where he is currently enrolled in a doctoral program. In his current position, he is involved in the Cabinet Office's Strategic Innovation Promotion Program (SIP) ― Building an Inclusive Community Platform (Financial Inclusion) research project. His focus is on developing models for financial institutions to discover elderly customers’ decline of cognitive function and collaboration with welfare-related organizations, as well as developing financial inclusion services.
