Fong-Chin Su is Executive Vice President, President, NCKU Research and Development Foundation, President, NCKU Education Foundation (2019-23), Acting Dean of Engineering (2020-21), Director General of Research and Services Headquarters (2015-17) and Founding Director of Medical Device Innovation Center (2011-17), NCKU. With regard to professional activities, he is Councilor of World Council of Biomechanics (2014-26), Courtesy Professor of University of Oregon (2018/08-2019/07), President of International Conference on Mechanics in Medicine and Biology (2018-2022), President of World Association for Chinese Biomedical Engineers (2017-19), President of Taiwanese Society of Biomedical Engineering (2011-14), Founding Councilor of Asian-Pacific Association for Biomechanics (2005-15), President of Taiwanese Society of Biomechanics (2002-03), and Executive Councilor of the Taiwan Industrial Technology Association (2002-16, 2020-23).
Dr. Su served as Deputy Minister of Science and Technology, Taiwan (2017/02-2018/07), CEO of Taiwan Biomedical Development Board (2017/02-2018/07). He is actively involved in Healthtech activities. Dr. Su has published 350 peer-reviewed journal papers (Google Citations 10185, h-index 54), and 720 conference papers. He is Co-Editor-in-Chief of BioMed Engineering OnLine (Springer, 2015-2020) and Journal of Medical and Biological Engineering.
Dr. Su has received several honors and awards including Distinguished Achievement Awards, the Phi Tau Phi Scholastic Honor Society, ROC (2023), KT Li Honorary Scholarship, NCKU (2023), Outstanding Research Award of Ministry of Science and Technology (2021 & 2011), Life Achievement Award, Taiwanese Society of Biomechanics (2018), National Industrial Innovation Award (2017), AIMBE Fellows (2016), Fellow of International Academy of Medical and Biological Engineering (IAMBE, 2013), Han Wei Medal, Taiwanese Society of Biomedical Engineering (2015), and You-Li Chou Medal, Taiwanese Society of Biomechanics (2007).
