Ms.Yuri Naruse plans and designs architecture based on the concept of "creating a place to share”. After studying architecture at the University of Tokyo and its graduate school, she became independent and worked on interior design and other projects before co-founding Naruse・Inokuma Architects in 2007. 2010-2017 she was an assistant professor at the University of Tokyo where she was involved in education. Afterwards she had a baby and left the university. Currently, she is the CEO of Naruse & Inokuma Architects. In addition to her design work, she serves as a judge for competitions and awards, and has been a judge for the Good Design Award since 2022. She has worked on facilities in various fields such as hotels, offices, residences, art facilities, and stores, and etc, whether architectural, interior, new construction, or renovation. Major works include "“Oyado Onn Nakatsugawa (hotel)," "LT Josai (shared house)," and "Dance of light (subway station)”. Major awards include the 2015 Architectural Institute of Japan New Designer Award, Special Recognition Award at the 15th International Architecture Exhibition, Venice Biennale, and the Korea Public Design Awards, Prime Minister’s Award 2019. She major publications include "Design Methods for Shared Spaces" and "Working with Architecture While Raising Children”.
