Dr Nguyen Lan Hieu is an adult and pediatric Cardiologist. He was granted Associate Professor in 2013. He is a member of The National Assembly Vietnam session 14. He has been the Director of Hanoi Medical University Hospital since April, 2019. He is also director of Cardiovascular Center, Hanoi Medical University Hospital; Vice Head of the Department of Cardiology, Hanoi Medical University. He has been in interventional practice for more than 20 years. He is a specialist in intervention of congenital and structural heart diseases. He is the Vietnamese interventionist with the highest number of congenital heart disease cases been intervened by himself through out Vietnam. His skillful hands are not only wellknown in his country but internationally. He has helped trained a large number of interventionists in his country and many countries throughout the world. He also travelled to many countries where the rate of congenital and structural heart diseases remained high to assisst doing intervention. He also helped his colleagues to fix difficult cases or cases with complication. He has attended and been a speaker in many conferences worldwide presenting topics related to interveniting congenital and structural heart diseases. Apart from doing intervention, he also had a lot of charity activities in screening children with congential heart diseases in various provinces in Vietnam, giving consultations and treating those children. With the role as a politician and the leader of the most well known University Hospital in Vietnam, he wants firstly to build the University hospital to become the leading hospital in the country to provide high quality health care service, friendly enviroment with the mission: “Bringing love, spreading joy to all patients, relatives and health care workers”, a good training center for physicians all over the world, then influence those spirits to all health care facilities througout the country, attract more and more domestic and international investments to build the health care system in Vietnam become better.
