Hitomi Matsui was born in 2003 in Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture, and graduated from Doshisha Senior High School.She is now in her second year at School of Dentistry, Faculty of Dentistry at Tokyo Medical and Dental University.
In her junior and senior high school days, she began to question her repetitive school life and tried out everything that caught her interest, in pursuit of “excitement” as her life theme. When she was a second-year high school student, she took the podium at a TEDx event to deliver a speech titled “Contour of WAKUWAKU (excitement).” In her third year of high school, she participated in inochi Gakusei Innovators’ Program, where she worked on resolving developmental disability problems.
Her interest in preventive medicine and correlations between oral cavity and the entire body led her to go on to Faculty of Dentistry, Tokyo Medical and Dental University. Since her first year of university, she has been active as a member of inochi WAKAZO Project, a countrywide student group consisting largely of medical student, working toward the mission of “To create a society that saves lives through the power of us.” Toward Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, she engages in “The Pay-it-Forward of Lives” activities aimed to promote the use of healthcare data through donations, while working to foster momentum from among the youth toward the exposition.
Besides being a university student, she is a graphic recorder with good graphic recording skills to visualize discussions on a real-time basis.
