Laurent started his career at the French Business Confederation’s European office in 1999 (MEDEF), before joining Pernod Ricard’s European Affairs department in 2001. He held several positions in this department, covering various areas of European public policies (agricultural production, health, EU internal market, indirect taxation, customs matters, international trade), including European Affairs Director when he finally left Brussels in 2014. When joining Pernod Ricard’s headquarters’ in Paris in 2014, he became Public Affairs Director for France and the OECD. In 2019, he took additional responsibility for public affairs for the company’s joint venture with the Cuban government. He was appointed in April 2020 to his current Group position with a global remit in public affairs and responsible alcohol consumption policies, reporting directly to the Group CEO.
