Formerly engaged in product, electrical, and nuclear safety regulation at Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), he joined the Cabinet Secretariat (then NISC) in 2013 as Councillor for national cybersecurity policy. He led the root-cause investigation of the 2015 Japan Pension Service data breach. Currently, he works across government, academia, and industry to advance cyber threat intelligence, policy research, and strategic cybersecurity initiatives.
