Cabinet Councillor and Deputy Chief Executive
National center of Incident readiness and Strategy for Cybersecurity Cabinet Secretariat (NISC)

Mr. IIDA has served as a Cabinet Councillor and the Deputy Chief Executive, National Center of Incident Readiness and Strategy for Cybersecurity (NISC) since September 2024. He is responsible for planning and implementing national cybersecurity policy. He is also working as an official of National Security Secretariat (NSS).

Before joining NISC, he was the Director General for Economic Security, Cabinet Office, and a Cabinet Councillor of NSS. He supervised policy planning and implementation in the field of economic security policies including Economic Security Promotion Act (ESPA) and Critical Economic Security Information Act (CESI Act).

Prior to those appointments, Mr. IIDA held several key positions in his 33-year career at the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), including as Director-General of Trade and Economic Cooperation Bureau. In this position, he was responsible for trade promotion policies such as trade insurance as well as trade control including economic sanctions against countries of concern. He also served as Director-General of Trade Control Department responsible for strengthening security export control mechanism and inward foreign direct investment regulation for national and international peace and security.

Mr. IIDA holds a Bachelor of Engineering from the University of Tokyo and a Master of Arts in international development policy from Duke University in the United States.
