Mr. Abe joined National Police Agency (NPA) in 1994. After joining, he mainly worked in Security Bureau and Community Safety Bureau of NPA. From 2012 to 2015, he was seconded to Embassy of Japan in Australia as a counselor, where he was involved in collecting information on local situations and protecting Japanese nationals residing in Australia. Afterwards, he worked at National center of Incident readiness and Strategy for Cybersecurity (NISC), Cabinet Secretariat and Digital Agency, focusing on countermeasures against cyberattacks against critical government systems and responding to incidents. Within NPA, he served as Director of Cybercrime Division and Director of Cyber Planning Division, handling tasks such as cracking down on cybercrime, conducting joint investigations with foreign investigative agencies, and planning and proposing systems related to cyber affairs. Since July 2024, as Deputy Director General for Cyber Affairs Bureau, the command post of the cyber police nationwide, he has been working diligently on responding to serious cyber incidents, promoting public-private partnerships and international collaboration, and strengthening measures to prevent damage.
