In October 2021, Tetsushi Yoshikawa assumed the position of Deputy Director-General, NISC. Between August 2018 and September 2021, he was in charge of Cybersecurity as Counsellor of NISC, and prepared the new Cybersecurity Strategy decided by the Cabinet in September 2021. Prior to that, he was responsible for renewable energy policy and evidence-based policy making at the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI). He joined METI (Former MITI) in 1991, and before his professional career, he received an M.E. degree in civil engineering from Kyoto University.
