Eve Chiu

Chairperson, The Association of Quality Journalism

Eve Chiu is a leader in media-focused non-governmental organizations and a scholar of communication. She currently serves as Chairperson of the Association of Quality Journalism and Director of the Taiwan FactCheck Center, and teaches contemporary communication issues at several colleges in Taiwan.

She previously served as Chief Executive Officer of the Taiwan FactCheck Center (2023–Jan 2026) and the Foundation for Excellent Journalism Award (2004–2023). In these roles, she led initiatives in fact-checking, media literacy, and the recognition of journalistic excellence, working closely with technology platforms, media organizations, and civil society. Both organizations are widely recognized as leading nonprofit institutions within Taiwan’s media ecosystem.

With a Ph.D. in communication and a background as an award-winning journalist, Eve has extensive experience bridging academia, industry, and public policy. She has advised both government and media sectors on strengthening information integrity and improving the quality of the media environment.

Eve also served as a board member of Taiwan Public Television (2016–2022). She is the author of one book and has published more than a dozen academic articles in the field of communication.
